ATM and Credit Cards now Accepted at Farm Bureau Markets

In order to make it easier to shop at local farmers’ markets the San Diego County Farm Bureau has implemented a system whereby shoppers may use their debit or credit cards to make any purchase at Farm Bureau sponsored farmers’ markets. The system works very much like an ATM. A customer may swipe their card using a common point of sale machine and withdraw a desired amount of money from their bank account. That amount is given to the customer in the form of unique tokens that are spent like cash at the market. Cash change will be given from the vendor to the customer in the event the token amount is greater than the product purchase price.
