From March 7th to 9th: Escondido AgX Startup Hackathon
The City of Escondido and Fresh Brewed Tech are partnering to bring the Agtech community together create new companies by solving the problems of today in agriculture and food sytem!
By being together in person, we will better understand today’s agriculture and food system problems and build solutions together with our local customers for the world.
San Diego and specifically Escondido is one of the densest farming communities in the state. No better place to mix our agriculture and tech communities!

Through our facilitation, we will take ideas that participants bring and iterate them to be validated towards a business.
Day 1: Thursday AgTech Community Social (3-5pm) and Hackathon Kickoff (5-10pm)
- Community social and company showcases, with food and drink
- Keynote talk with local leaders
- Presentation of ideas by attendees and group up into teams (100+ people participating)
Day 2: Friday (8am-10pm) Let’s Get Down To Business
- Breakfast for teams and mentors, intros by mentors
- An overview on customer development
- Teams conduct customer development interviews(2-4 hours)
- Lunch
- Come back to analyze results and mentor office hours
- Analyze learnings, build early prototype
Day 3: Saturday (8am-2pm) Show Us What You’ve Got!
- Breakfast
- Morning – Put together slides, mentor office hours during
- Noon – Pitch competition with judges, scoring, and prizes ($10k+)
- Lunch/social/networking
